This cute little melting snowmen Army was for a GA bake sale...They were a big hit with the kids.

Watermelon flavored and decorated cupcakes.  I didn't feel that these need all the extra frosting.

This was my first horse cake. It was fun to make.  His ears are longer but from this angle it's kind of hard to see.

My first bunny face shaped cake with a carrot on the side.

This was our son's first birthday cake.  It was so much fun to make.

I did have a little issue with the cookie monster's head.  It fell off but it was easy to fix. :)

This was his SMASH cake...it didn't look much different when he got a hold of it.  He was not into the whole cake eating thing at all.

I made these cupcakes for a neighbor.

This fish cake was one of my designs and it too was fun to make.  We gave this out as a snack at the discipleship training class my husband teaches.

This is my first painted cake.  I loved doing this one too.  It kind of makes it a little more personal.   This is before I added some things :)
I didn't think about adding the plane until after.  I thought it would be cute although I did run out of room on the banner :( I think it still looks cute.

That is all the catching up I have to do for now.  The big things I have coming up is a Wounded Warriors Project Fundraiser the GA's are doing and my son's 12th birthday cake...I am really excited about this one too.

Hello everyone, I don't have much time once my son (10 month old) realizes that my computer is open I am finished LOL.  My latest cake turned out so good. I even got another cake adventure coming soon.  Here is my daughter's 15th birthday cake...
I even made peppers to go with the tacos.

I made some lightly mango flavored cakes for a bake sale....

There is a secret behind these white flowers.  I made my own buttercream frosting and thought that the consistency looked similar to that of spritz cookies and yes, I decided to try putting the frosting in the press and it WORKED!  When in a hurry, BOOM! lol...it's so neat!
Ok that's it for now, little one is trying to help...

I have done some baking...not too many cakes since the birth of our second son.  But here are some pics of what I have been doing.

This was my dad's 70th birthday cake.  It was chocolate with a mango filling in between the layers.

This hamburger cake was made for a Wednesday night dinner at church.  It was fun to make and was a big hit with the kids.
This was another one of my first fondant cakes.
These are my Fancy Cupcakes some of them have fondant.  I made these for a bake sale.

The Cow Head cake was for a cake walk at church along with the Breast Cancer Awarness Cake.  The cow was done with cocoa powder and the eyes were made with mini chocolate chips.  If I had of thought about it before hand I would've melted the chips and made solid circles for the eyes.  I'm sure that this isn't going to be the first time that I make this one so practice makes perfect.

This is just one of the tie dyed cupcakes I made for a bake sale. I didn't use any special packaging or any special kit for these.  Just plain old food coloring.

My Garden Variety mini cupcakes.  Made for GA  (Girls  in Action church group) bake sale.

The Oyster Bed cupcakes

This was my Christmas Poinsettia cake.  I made the cake from scratch along with the fondant.  The cake was rather dry so I will be trying a different recipe next time around.

I keep practicing my roses.  I can't tell you how many trys it took me just to be okay with the ones I put on my daddy's cake.  This cake was just chocolate all the way.

This was my New Year/Birthday cake.  I made this for a church member and for skating.  The top hat lifted off to be her personal cake.  This was a fun cake to make.

Graduation Cake

This is my first graduation Cake I have ever made!  I think it turned out well even though I didn't have the colors I wanted to use.  Needless to say, the graduating senior was very happy with it and that's what counts the most!  I want to thank my friend for trusting me to do this big job for her oldest daughter's important day!  Congratulations, sweetie!

Holiday Cookies

I just finished frosting my holiday cookies.  I have just started decorating cookies fancy, so most of them are not that great yet.

I even tried my hand at roses, I made only one that turned out half way decent.  It was fun trying and i know that the more I practice, the better I get and one day I will be just as terrific as my sister is at making the roses.

Catching up...

I've done a lot of baking since the first post.  Now it's time to catch everyone up.  Thanks for looking and reading, have a blessed day!

My first New York Style Cheese Cake.  It was a big hit Wednesday night at church.  I do have a confession to make about this one.  I am not a big fan of cream cheese, and I didn't want to try it.  Seeing how much my daughter loved the cake, I broke down and tried a little piece.  I was hooked!  Yummy!

This cake was fairly easy!  Instead of using a whole bunch of different candy to make up his special features I used melted chocolate instead.  I did add some fire to him too!

This was my birthday cake.  The sand was from colored sugar, the ball half of a cake pop and the palm trees (which were suppose to stand up on the cake) to the surfboards were chocolate.
These were some filled cupcakes.  I think next time I will use a different type of filling.  The filling I used here seemed to melt into the cupcakes even though they were cold.

My very first truffles.  Let me tell you these things are so addictive!  I'm not sure how many of them made it to the church that night!  Between me, three other girls and a boy in the same car as these little things; your guess is as good as mine...lol.

We are all caught up now.  Thanks for looking and reading.  Please feel free to make comments or suggestions for me to better improve my confections.

Hello

I love to bake and cook and be in the kitchen.  This blog is where I am going to post all of my cakes and cookies from now on.  There will be no more dessert recipes posted on this site.  Just a little information about the cake(s) or other desserts.  I hope you will enjoy this blog.
